In spring, the valley around Goldrain transforms into a sea of white and soft pink blossom. Millions of apple trees bloom at the same time, bathing the landscape in a delicate interplay of colour, fragrance and light. A walk through the blossoming orchards is one of the most beautiful experiences in the Vinschgau. Mild temperatures and clear mountain air make this season feel especially magical.

When the first rays of sunlight touch the peaks of the Ortler Alps, an unforgettable natural spectacle begins in the Vinschgau. From many viewpoints around Goldrain, this special moment can be enjoyed in complete tranquillity.

The Sonnenberg is one of the driest regions in the Alps and is known for its distinctive steppe vegetation. Plants that are more commonly found in southern climates thrive here. As the sun disappears behind the peaks in the evening, warm light bathes the landscape in an almost Mediterranean atmosphere.

Special feature: The contrast between the dry Sonnenberg and the lush green Nördersberg is truly unique.

Far from the lights of larger cities, the sky above the Vinschgau is exceptionally clear. On warm summer nights, thousands of stars appear above the mountain ranges. With a little luck, you may even catch a shooting star or see the Milky Way stretching across the night sky.

The landscape surrounding Amolaris is shaped by orchards, small woodlands and meadows. In the early morning, the sounds are wonderfully simple: birdsong, leaves rustling softly in the breeze and the gentle murmur of mountain streams. These quiet moments reveal nature at its most peaceful.

Tip: Walk barefoot through the grass in your lodge garden and simply enjoy the stillness.

Marmots are at home in the higher reaches of the Vinschgau and can often be spotted on sun-warmed alpine meadows, especially in early summer. Their distinctive whistle can usually be heard long before they come into view.

Tip: A little patience and a pair of binoculars will increase your chances of seeing them.
